Shelby a Great Shelby (Living in Spirit)
– Betty’s Great Dane
The following is a phone conversation Catherine had
with her client Betty about the reading she had.
Catherine: Shelby came
through to me with a bright & cheerful personality.
She was so happy to get the chance to talk with someone
about her mom, Betty.
Here’s what she told me:
She
said to tell her mom to go ahead and get the puppy that
she’s been wanting, but she also needs to get
another dog that’s a little older than the puppy.
The older dog will teach the puppy everything the puppy
needs to know to be a good pup.
Shelby told me that she hated the cat at first, but
after awhile, they became best of friends and are now
together on the other side.
Betty:
Betty agreed that she was worried when she first brought
the cat home because she could tell that Shelby did
not like the cat. Betty said that it took awhile for
the two of them to warm up to each other, but they soon
became best of friends.
Catherine:
She said that Betty has been crying a lot. She said
that she also cried a lot when Shelby was alive.
Betty: When I told Betty this, she
agreed that she has been crying a lot & said I would
have no way of knowing that because she had not confided
that to me.
Catherine: Shelby went on to say that
when mom cried a lot during the time that Shelby was
here; Shelby would do funny things to make her laugh.
She did everything she could to get her mind off of
whatever it was that was making her cry. She said the
new puppy will make her laugh.
Shelby told me that she had a lot of different food
and water bowls over the years but she remembers a big
silver water bowl. She said that mom had a lot of trouble
with the food & water bowls. Raising them off the
floor was a problem at first.
Betty agreed that she had had a lot
of different bowls over the years & that several
of them were probably silver. She disagreed, at first,
about having problems with the raising the bowls. She
said they were always raised. But then, as we talked
more, she remembered the first time she realized that
Shelby needed them raised. Shelby looked like a giraffe
trying to bend down to eat her food. Her legs were all
spread out. Betty had to scramble to find something
to put the food bowl on. She ended up finding a water
bucket that she turned over & put the bowl on top
of it for Shelby to eat out of.
Catherine:
Shelby told me that when Betty first got her, Shelby
tore up the yard & it made Betty mad, but then,
after awhile, Betty just gave up and was okay with it.
Betty laughed when I mentioned this
and agreed that she had been mad at first, but decided
it was no use. She’d rather have Shelby than a
nice yard.
Shelby ran in the yard a lot & she use to love
to chase the cat until she got too old.
Betty agreed.
Catherine: Shelby went on to tell
me how she died and that it was because the other dog
that was in the house jumped on her & broke her
back. She said the other dog didn’t know its own
strength and felt very, very bad about what had happened
for a long time.
Shelby told me that she is now with the other dog and
both of them are doing just fine. She said the other
dog knows that Betty is sorry for holding a grudge against
her all that time. She wants Betty to know that she
understands & is not upset or mad at Betty.
Betty said that she held a grudge
against the other dog for a long, long time. Even up
to the time of the dog’s death, she still held
a grudge. But after the dog died, she started feeling
bad and had wished the dog was still there so she could
tell her she was sorry for being so mad at her and for
holding a grudge. It made Betty feel better to know
that the dog has forgiven her.
Catherine: She also told me that Betty
used to dress her up in hats. She said that Betty still
has some of the hats. She loved the hats & the puppy
will too.
Betty:
Again, Betty laughed while remembering how she used
to dress Shelby up all the time. She would always dress
her up for Halloween and said there was no way that
I would’ve known that, so it had to come from
Shelby.
Catherine: Shelby said that she is
coming back in this lifetime to be with Betty again
& that when she does, Betty will know it.
Shelby asked me to tell Betty that she loves her very
much and that she knows that Betty did everything she
could for her. It was hard for Shelby to leave, but
it was something she had to do. She wants Betty to know
that even though she’s not there physically, she’s
still with her in spirit and she hears Betty every time
she talks to her.
